β-glucan is a polysaccharide found in the cell walls of bacteria, fungi, algae, and plants (e.g. barley and oats) and is connected by several different types of beta-glycoside bonds to form linear or branched structures.

For example, cereals (oats and barley) have a (1,3/1,4) connection pattern, while β-glucans from fungal sources (mushrooms and yeasts) have a (1,3/1,6) connection mode, each with different degrees of side-chain branches attached to the trunk.

The number and length of side-chain branches have been shown to be important for biological activity, in general, the higher the degree of branching, the stronger the biological activity, often claimed effects are: enhanced immunity, anti-tumor, antibacterial, antiviral and wound healing.

Yeast Beta Glucan is derived from break of yeast cell wall. It is produced by modern bio-engineering techniques through autolysis, enzymolysis, cell-wall breaking, refining and spray drying. the appearance is light yellow fine powder. 

Yeast Beta glucan or β -1,3/1, 6 glucan is immune Polysaccharides in cell wall of yeast. it is considered the most efficitive beta-glucan when it comes to immune modulation. In additional, it can clean the free radicals, anti-radiation, solve cholesterol, prevent from high blood lipid, resist the infections caused by virus, fungi and bacterial etc. Yeast Beta glucan has potential as adjuvant in the treatment of cancer.
