Indole 3 carbinol , also name Indole-3-methanol and I3C, CAS 700-06-1 and mol. Formula C9H9NO), white powder or white crystalline powder. it is produced by the breakdown of the glucosinolate glucobrassicin, 

I3C is available in a dietary supplement, such as the subject of on-going Biomedical research into its possible anticarcinogenic, antioxidant, and antiatherogenic effects.
