N Acetyl carnosine (NAC) is a naturally occurring compound chemically related to the dipeptide carnosine. The NAC molecular structure is identical to carnosine with the exception that it carries an additional acetyl group. N Acetyl Carnosine is a form of acetylated carnosine, which allows the overall molecular composition more stability.

The effect of carnosine is anti-oxidation, anti-sugarization, recovery of fatigue, and inhibition of cataract-induced lens oxidation. The visual acuity improvement and dazzling improvement of senile cataract were also about 90% after 1 month of use.

1)Acetyl carnosine can inhibition of cataract. Formulations containing N Acetyl carnosine can prevent or resolve cataracts when added to the eyes, presumably through the conversion of NAC to another antioxidant carnosine. 

2) Acetyl carnosine is an amino acid, which has strong antioxidant properties and beneficial to muscle tissue. Acetylation makes NAC more resistant to the degradation by carnosinase, an enzyme breaks down carnosine into its constituent amino acids beta-alanine and histidine. NAC and related dipeptides, delivered in specific formulations, it may have protective effects for skin.
